For thousands of years, Syria has been multicultural. Jesus preached in Syria and his disciples established some of the earliest churches in this ancient country. Since its independence in 1946, modern Syria has strived to be secular, free and tolerant. A small minority of Sunni fundamentalists are being manipulated by Muslim Brotherhood (Qatar), Wahhabism (Saudi Arabia) and Al Qaeda. Will Syria be able to defeat them and be prosperous again?
